Frequently Asked Questions:
What is Lip Augmentation/Lip Filler?2022-03-01T20:52:10+00:00

Lip augmentation, also known as lip filler is a non-surgical treatment in which is primarily designed to restore shape, increase volume and hydration and add projection into the border and body of the lips. This treatment requires the injection of dermal filler, a natural substance of hyaluronic acid into the main injection points of the lip. These main injection points are the vermillion border, cupids bow, oral commissures and the philtrum all in which supports and shapes the structure of your lip.

How is Lip Augmentation/Lip Filler treatment done?2022-02-17T12:03:06+00:00

Here at Paige Emilee Aesthetics we need to ensure that you are suitable for this treatment, therefore a full assessment will be carried out prior to the treatment. This includes a medical questionnaire, and a discussion with what you would like your desired look to be. Paige will then decide what technique and amount of dermal filler would be best to achieve this. A lidocaine based numbing cream will be applied to your lips for around 10-15 minutes for maximum result; this makes the injection process pain free! Once your lips are numb and you’re comfortable we will then begin administering the dermal filler through a needle. Once your treatment is done, Paige will go through your aftercare advice, which is paramount to follow.

How long does Lip Augmentation/Lip Filler treatment take?2022-03-01T20:56:05+00:00

The treatment takes 10-15 minutes, however your appointment time allocated will be a 1-hour slot. As stated previously, here at Paige Emilee Aesthetics we strive to educate our clients on their treatment, that’s why we take our time to go through a detailed medical history, and discuss the risks and complications that come with lip augmentation and how as a medical practitioner Paige minimizes these as much as she can.  A consent form must be filled out, and any questions that you may have will be answered prior to your treatment. We would love to take some before and after pictures for our website and instagram content but only as long as you consent to this!

How long does Lip Augmentation/Lip Filler last?2022-03-01T21:08:51+00:00

The dermal filler used in clinic is temporary, not permanent, and over time your body will metabolise the filler naturally. Therefore, typically one sitting of dermal filler will last around 2-3 months, after that you will require a top up to sustain the volume and shape of your lips. From there, most clients will only require a top up every 4-6 months to maintain your results. Please bare in mind, the longevity of your dermal filler depends on your lifestyle.

How much does Lip Augmentation/Lip Filler cost?2022-03-01T21:05:39+00:00

The cost of dermal filler can vary depending on the desired look. You can find out more about our pricing here.

What are the side effects and risks of Lip Augmentation/Lip Filler?2022-03-01T20:53:15+00:00

Unfortunately all non-surgical treatments carry risks and side affects, however Paige has undergone intense training on how to treat any of these problems in the unlikely event that they arise. There are common side affects usually lasting up to a maximum of 14 days, and some that are not so common.

COMMON:

  • Tenderness
  • Swelling
  • Bruising

UNCOMMON:

  • Allergic reaction
  • Vascular occlusion: when the dermal filler is accidentally injected directly into a blood vessel causing a blockage in blood flow and potentially leading to tissue necrosis and blindness.
  • Lumps
  • Product migration
  • Infection
  • Severe Swelling
